Leaning into the Cry of Jesus from John 17
What would it look like if the people that that you came in contact with really grasped the gospel? This would mean that your family, neighbors, co-workers and even those that you pass in the streets knew that there is a God who had a Son named Jesus. They would understand that He came so we could know Him and experience the fullness of His life and love.
This might sound like wishful thinking, but it was actually part of the prayer that Jesus prayed just before He went to the cross to redeem those who were made in His image. As Jesus took time to pray for His followers and for all that would believe on Him through their word, the heart of His prayer was that we would be one with Him in the same way He was one with the Father. Jesus prayed these things so the world would know that the Father sent the Son, and loved them in the same way that He loved Jesus.
When we think about what it means to bring our lives into alignment with the prayer of Jesus on the last night that He walked the earth, our hearts burn to unite our hearts with His and with each other to see His Kingdom come, and for His desires to be established on earth as it is in heaven. Pray Americas is a community of people who have given themselves to following Jesus into a lifestyle of prayer and seeing the message of His Love spread. As we humble ourselves under the name of Jesus, and prayerfully re-order our lives to cooperate with Him in His mission, we believe that God hears our prayers and responds. This is why
we are coming together from across the United States and beyond to set aside forty days to walk and pray in our neighborhoods this summer. We invite you to join with us as we lean into God's heart and believe to see the good news of His Love spread.

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Words from Our Friends
We are in great anticipation of revival in our churches, in our people, and in our nation as Christians mobilize in prayer to bring about a great awakening of the Good News of Jesus Christ. We know this time of praying, reflecting, worshipping, and trusting of the Holy Spirit to bring revival will see great results and we are happy to partner with Pray Americas and the South East Asia Prayer Center to see this come to pass.

IDEAS OF HOW TO ENGAGE THE
40 DAYS OF UNITED PRAYER
Engaging in a Lifestyle of Prayer and Mission
As we prepare for forty days of united prayer, it is really important to know that there are many ways to approach the time. Historically, Pray Americas started out as a prayer walking initiative, but through the years there have been so many incredibly different ways that people have chosen to go, pray and engage their communities. From truckers "prayer driving" across the country, to hearing how a woman with limited mobility would make her way to the balcony of the senior living apartments so she could pray over her community, the key is the confidence that we have that God listens and answers when we pray.
The heart behind Prays Americas is that we are intentional in praying and looking for opportunities to see the good news of Jesus spread in the places where we do life, as we believe for that same message to spread to every tribe, tongue and nation. We learn this strategy from Jesus just before He ascends back to the Father. In Acts 1:8, He gives His followers a promise that they will receive power from the Holy Spirit to become His witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
It is with this in mind that we invite you to pray about the best ways for you to approach these forty days of united prayer. Here are a few things to remember as you pray.
- BE INTENTIONAL to engage in aspects of both prayer and mission.
- BE CONSISTENT to follow through with whatever you sense the Lord showing you.
- BE CREATIVE in your how you engage. (Try to stretch beyond your comfort zone.)
- BE UNITED by connecting with others and inviting them to join you.
Here are a few ideas of specific ways that you can engage during these 40 days.
Prayer Walk
This simple strategy is at the core of what we do with Pray Americas. For the last 10 summers, everyday followers of Jesus have stepped into their communities to pray and release God's best purposes over the places they live. Whether you are walking alone in your neighborhood as a way to exercise, or meeting with people to intercede at strategic prayer points, you can intentionally carry the presence of God through prayer and shift the atmosphere over your community.

Pray & Worship Together
In Matthew 18, Jesus told His followers that where two or three gather in His name, that He would be in their midst. We believe that all success in the spirit realm begins with an atmosphere of praise and worship. You can gather with a few friends (or a few dozen) to seek the Lord together. With or without guitars or other musical instruments, there our few things that unite our hearts ore than we humble ourselves together under the name of Jesus to seek His face.
Intentional Gatherings
As we go out into our communities, praying with God's heart to see His Kingdom established in the lives of those around us, we ask Him to lead us to hungry hearts. As He does, it is important to be looking opportunities to "park the ark" in a place that allows to allow the presence of His Spirit in us, to overflow. This might look like being intentional to become a regular at a local restaurant or coffee shop, or inviting your neighbors over for a BBQ. The goal is to be sensitive to God's leading and be willing to make room to nurture the seeds of the gospel as God gives you the opportunity.
These are just a few ideas of ways that you can take part this summer. As you do, you will join with other believers from coast to coast, border to border and beyond as a part of a 40 Day concert of United Prayer. Will you believe together with us that as we pray, God will hear us and answer and we will see the message of Jesus spread? We look forward to seeing what God will do. After all, we were created to see the good news work.
